Magnitude 6.7 Earthquake Offshore of Niigata Japan

USGS reports a 6.7 earthquake epicentered about 40 miles off of the west coast of Honshu, Japan. The local time was Monday, July 16 at 10:13 AM. USGS has posted a shake map with maximum estimated intensities of VI to VII on the west coast of Honshu. Reports by visitors to the USGS website show intensities of V near Niigata and VII at Joetsu.
