Small Eruption at Ambrym Volcano

Ambrym Volcano emitted a thin plume, likely rich in sulfur dioxide, on December 3, 2009. Ambrym island is part of the Vanuatu archipelago, along the western boundary of the Pacific “ring of fire.”
