Encyclopedia of Life Passes 1 Million Species Mark

The Encyclopedia of Life is a free website supported by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and numerous other institutions. The goal is to create an online catalog of species with descriptions, images, video, maps and more. They recently crossed the 1 million species milestone.
