Potash Consumption Rebounding
September 26, 2012 | Arizona Geology Blog

During the recession many farmers stopped applying fertilizer to some of their land. As a result potash consumption fell from 6.7 million metric tons (K2O equivalent) in 2008 to 2.5 million metric tons in 2009 and the price collapsed. Now consumption is on the rise, prices are rising rapidly and farmers are working to replenish the nutrients in their soils. The Arizona Geology blog has a post on the “Pink Goldrush”.
