Shale Oil Helped Depress Iranian Exports

An article in Bloomberg Businessweek suggests that the abundance of new crude oil being generated from shale helped pressure Iran into negotiations on nuclear weapons. Iran's oil exports have fallen from about 2.5 million barrels per day to a little over 1 million and the country is in need of income. Oil from shale has helped bridge that demand without market disruptions.
