Geneva is the second largest city in Switzerland. It is located at the southwestern end of Lake Leman, on the course of the Rhone River. Geneva is considered a "global city"; an important geographic locale in creating or endorsing global affairs.

A few of these include: Vermier, Meyrin, Onex, Chancy, Bernex, La Petite Grave, Cologny, Versoix, Coppet, Commugny and Collonge-Bellerive. There are cities and communities of France that can also be seen. These include: Annemasse, Vetraz-Monthoux, Reignier, Monnetier-Mornex, Douvaine, Tholomaz, Machilly, Saint-Julien-en-Genevois, Saint Genis-Pouilly, Thoiry, Prevessin-Moens and Cessy.

There are numerous man-made and physical features that are visible in this satellite image. Some of these include: Cret au Merle, Cret de Chalam, Saleve Range, Le Grand Piton, Col des Pitons, Col de la Croisette, the Massif du Jura, Colomby de Gex, Cret de la Neige, Le Signal des Voirons, Lake Leman, Rhone River, Arve River and the Geneva International Airport.
