Amsterdam is located in the northwest portion of the Netherlands, in the province of North-Holland. This capital city is connected to the North Sea by way of the North Sea Canal.

They include Almere, Haarlem, Monnickendam, Velsen, Ijmuiden, Hilversum, Bussum, Leiden, Rijnsburg, Katwijk, Purmerend, Heiloo, Limmen, Egmond aan Zee, Haarlemmermeer, Huizen, Zaanstad, Krommenie, Wormerveer, Wormer and Heemskerk.

This image shows many physical and man-made features which include a patchwork of fields and numerous canals. The largest canal, North Sea Canal, (which can be seen to the left of this image) runs through Amsterdam connecting the North Sea to Ijmeer Lake. Other bodies of water seen in this image are the many lakes. These include Westeinderplassen, Vinkeveense Plassen, Loenderveensche Plassen, Noorderplassen, Alkmaarder De Woude Meer, Gooimeer, Ijmeer and Braassemermeer. The various other features include the national park Zuid-Kennemerland, Noordhollands Duinreservaat (the North-Holland Dune Reserve), Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and the island Haveneiland-West.
