San Miguel de Cozumel Profile:
San Miguel de Cozumel is on the island of Cozumel. It is located about 12 miles east of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, across from the city of Playa del Carmen.
Visible Communities in the Satellite Image: There is a great deal of undeveloped area on the island of Cozumel and on the portion of the Yucatan Peninsula which is visible in the northwest corner of this image. However there are a couple other cities or towns which are visible on the mainland. These include Palmul, Xcaret and Playa del Carmen.
Visible Features in the Satellite Image: There are some man-made and physical features which are visible in this satellite image of the mostly undeveloped island of Cozumel. These include: the Mayan archaeological site of San Gervasio, Punta Molas del Norte, Punta Sur Ecological Reserve, Chankanaab National Park, the Caribbean Sea, Yucatan Channel, Colombia Lagoon, Cozumel International Airport, Punta Celerain and the historic site of El Cedral.
