There is also extensive land dedicated to national parks and conservation areas surrounding the city. The visible ones include: the Blue Mountain, Royal, Ku-ring-gai Chase, Nattai and Marramarra National Parks, and the Dharawal, Burragorang, and Yerranderie State Conservation Areas.
